avocad-ho: I was cleaning out my closet today and I found those…

avocad-ho:

I was cleaning out my closet today and I found those two pictures on top (where I’m in the red) of myself from when I was 15 years old. The bottom pictures are from my last day of college and a selfie I took earlier this year. This is my testimony that things do in fact get better with time.

Everything that seems so awful right now will fade away. Everything that you tell yourself that you can’t do is achievable. You just need to reach deep down and find your motivation. For a lot of people that means hitting bottom so that they can go up, for others it means trying and failing multiple times, and for a select few, it comes easily. Regardless of how you find it, DO NOT LET IT GO.

I hated high school, I hated my first year of college, I hated my first job, I hated the way I looked—I hit a breaking point one day and said no more. I have worked extremely hard to look the way I want, to be good at what I want to be good at, and to have a job in a field I love. My life is wonderful (and yeah, I still have bad days occasionally and get down, but that’s being human!).

The most important thing I’ve learned though is that I could have loved my life all that time if I had just learned to like myself regardless of what others said/thought. You are the most important person in your life—please yourself and not others.

SHINE YOUR LIGHT for the world to see! 🙂
