So about a year ago I finally started to get my depression and anxiety under control and I decided it was time to finally get my weight under control as well. I used slimfast for the first two months to kickstart my weight loss and then switched over to calorie counting with myfitnesspal (on a 1200 calorie a day plan.) I also moved from the country to the city which made a huge difference in my activity levels, since Ive gone from driving everywhere to walking everywhere.
In the past year I’ve pretty much made a complete 180 lifestyle and mental health change. I want from eating a bag of chips, ice cream and drinking multiple bottles of soda a day to eating fairly healthy balanced meals and drinking almost exclusively water and unsweetened tea. I’m more active than I’ve been in years and can walk long distances and carry heavy things without getting winded like I used to. I actively look forward to daily things and wake up early instead of dreading it and never wanting to get out of bed. I’m at the lowest weight I’ve been since I was a kid and honestly even if sometimes I still get down on myself, overall I feel the best I probably ever have both physically and mentally.
This got a bit long but this past year has just been such a dramatic mental and lifestyle shift for me, sometimes I need to remind myself how far I’ve come.
