These pictures were taken about a year and a half apart, & there’s a 40 lb difference between the two.
I don’t ever remember a time where I haven’t been self-conscious about my body or my appearance, even as a child, so as I reflect on my journey, I am honestly surprised by the progress I’ve made so far. If there’s anything I’ve learned on my journey, it’s that you have to want it for yourself. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve tried to diet & exercise and have quickly fallen off the wagon because I didn’t want it as bad as I thought I did. Its not easy, & I don’t think it ever will be. However, for the first time in my entire life, I’m ready to learn to love myself & devote everything to being the best version of myself. I have days where I want to indulge in everything and that’s okay, but it’s all about moderation. I’m still not where I want to be, but I’m at a point where I am willing to be patient with myself. I’ve learned to stop being so negative about how I look, because it starts to reflect on how you are as a person. If you stop quitting, you’ll never have to start over 🙂
