I’m 5’8″ & 135 lbs
These pictures are around 7 months apart. In August 2014 I decided it was time for some long lasting changes in my life. I gave birth to my first child in December 2013. He was born with a heart condition, and it occurred to me that I need to be consistent and set a good, heart healthy example to him. So…in August (about 7 months after having my little), I decided it was time.
There hasn’t been one program or “diet” that I’ve followed strictly, I just try to get my butt moving for at least 30-60 minutes a day, 6 days a week & be more conscious of what I’m putting in my mouth. I’ve used a few Beachboy programs, FitnessBlender’s YouTube channel and Kayla Itsines’ Bikini Body Guide. I get bored really fast when following one program, so I tend to switch things up a lot.
I’ve always struggled with confidence issues even though I’ve never really been severely overweight. I’ve also always gone in sprees of wanting to get healthier/more active, but it’s never lasted because I was always looking for a quick fix to lose weight instead of developing a mentality of a healthy lifestyle. I have to say that since I’ve stuck with this journey as long as I have, my confidence has grown immensely & I will never go back to my old lifestyle. It feels too good to be healthy!
My goals right now are to join a gym (I’m petrified!), start incorporating more weight training into my routine and to finish 12 full week of Kayla Itsines’ guide!
