I lost the weight by wanting it more than anything else. I wanted to lose the weight and get down to a healthy BMI more than I wanted to eat cookies, more than I wanted to order pizza, more than I wanted to get ice cream with friends, and more than I wanted to binge on cereal after class. I think that’s the ticket to success, you have to want it more!
I got up to 200lbs because I didn’t care. I was depressed and I always thought oh I’ll lose the weight later. Until I broke down because I couldn’t stand the sight of myself in the mirror and none of my clothes fit me anymore.
I cut out sugar, I switched from massive bowls of cereal to scrabbled eggs in the morning, I went out for coffee instead of ice cream with friends, and I cooked veggies and proteins for dinner instead of eating half a pizza.
I also got more active. I went to the gym almost daily at the beginning. Now I go for long walks, I go swimming, I make time everyday for exercise. Go do something active with friends instead of going out to eat.
It’s not an easy journey, but if you set goals, find support from others, and want it more than the junk food, YOU CAN DO IT TOO! YOU CAN!
