As a senior in college, I stepped on the scale and realized I had let my weight climb to 200lbs. Distraught, insecure and alone, I made a pledge to myself and began to walk. Walking quickly turned to running and as I improved my healthy eating, the pounds came off. In October of 2013, I completed the Marine Corps Marathon and it was the greatest moment of my life. With all of the heavy running I was doing, my weight quickly plateaued even though I had more to lose. That’s when I found Planet Fitness. With the support of the staff, the excellent equipment and bounty of open machines, I whittled off another 30lbs. Now, I’ve lost over 70lbs total and am so close to my goal but feel amazing! Planet Fitness helped me revitalize my love for the gym and working out. There are many new things to try and the equipment is always user friendly. Being short makes it difficult for me to lose or gain weight because of the intense fluctuation on my body. I would like to get to the point where I feel AND look healthy!
My next frontier is delving into Shakeology and a new form of nutrition for me. I already drink smoothies but I’m learning that it’s a lifestyle, and I want to embrace it!
