My name is Ashley, I’m 23 and I’ve been overweight my whole life. I finally wanted to make a change, I had lost weight naturally in the past, and from May 2012-February 2013 I lost a little over 50lbs. It was easy, and I felt great!
I suffer from some chronic illnesses, the biggest being Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, and Common Variable Immune Deficiency.
I was diagnosed with the Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTs) in February, and that’s when the weight loss stopped. I tried and tried to lose weight, but wasn’t successful the way I was in the past.
Due to my illnesses I can no longer be active, I’m practically bedridden, often need a wheelchair, and gained my weight back. My doctor recommended WLS, weight loss surgery, and on December 29, 2014 I had Gastric Sleeve surgery.
It has changed my life, I still suffer from my illnesses, I am unable to be very active, but I am at least able to loose weight, I make good choices, and make my body as healthy as possible.
I want to give it a fighting chance!
