partofme-apartfromme: This is my first ever before and…

This is my first ever before and after.

The picture on the left was taken on Valentine’s Day 2015.  I was popping a bottle of proseco for my boyfriend and I to celebrate V-Day and my first day in my first apartment in a new city.  I was at my highest weight of 185 lbs.

The picture on the right was taken this past Saturday, June 21, 2015.  I was on my way out to the movies with my boyfriend. trying to take a selfie with my new cat, Luna!  My first cat ever 😀  .. At this point I’m at 162 lbs.

Minus 23 lbs! Down 2 (or 3, depending on the cut) sizes in pants.

This is the most weight I’ve ever lost and the longest I’ve ever stuck to it.

I’ve been vegan for 2+ years, but I reached my highest weight during that time because I wasn’t taking care of my soul and I was turning to vegan food junk food.  Vegan doesn’t automatically mean you’re healthy.  I had to take care of my mind and my spirit before I could take care of my body and that’s most likely why I’ve failed so many times in the past.

This last week or so, I sort of feel motivation slipping but when I see how far I’ve come, I know that I don’t have the option of going backward.  This is the first time I’ve noticed the difference, seeing these two pictures side by side. Seeing this is huge motivation for me to continue and push through, even when I’m sleepy and want to go to bed instead of the gym and even when I’d rather eat pizza than my veggies every night of the week.

My first goal weight is 150.  I have just 12 lbs to go.  That number, 150, seemed unattainable 4-5 months ago.  Now, I’m more than halfway there.  I’m nearly two-thirds of the way there!  Not only do I know that I can get there, but I know now that I will get there.  I’m on my way!
