This is me. Same guy, just a lot thinner and healthier in a period of about 8 months. The heavy guy was around 295 pounds. Currently I’m down to about 220, so I’ve lost about 75 pounds, which may still sound like a lot but I’m at 12% body fat, which is squarely in the athletic range. So all the weight loss was fat and I retained (and built) my lean muscle mass. Many people have noticed and ask “What did you do? How did you do it?” I’m still a work in progress, and I’m certainly no health and fitness expert, although I have learned a lot along the way.
I celebrated my 50th birthday in November, 2014, and this is the fittest I’ve been, ever. I guess you could call this my birthday present to myself. I keep a blog as my attempt to “pay it forward” by giving a number of tips that helped me through the weight loss. And no, I didn’t starve myself or do any crazy or weird diets. Yes, it was primarily eating better and exercising. My hope is that something I write might inspire you to make a similar commitment to fitness.
